m audio 2496 the pci version. its a very good card, you could also opt for the usb/firewire one if you wish, but thats a little more expensive.

well i was thinking of getting the E-MU 1212M but im not too sure about that. i just want something that i can hook up my monitors to and be able to have some clear sounds comin' out. any thoughts fam?

cop either the audiophile 2496 or the emu 0404...I myself had to go with the 2496. it'll come with shitloads of software. But that's just me....

Audiophile boosts 104dB on D/A ( SNR ) @ 24/96 ... no dsp - $129
Emu 0404 boosts 116dB on D/A ( SNR ) @ 24/192 ... and dsp - $99

Obvious choice, emu's better and cheaper..

man the soundcard sounds sweet. very clear. the krk rp5's are tighhhtttttt.
