It all started here :

Then Souljah Boy responds

Then ice-T came back, this time with his son.

I don't really side with either. I think there is a place in the music industry for everything. I don't understand the reason why these two should bother hurling insults at each other.

The fact that the little dude doesnt even care about rap , in my generation you rap till you die, in this one you just get paid and leave, Fuck the art.

that souljah boy response was classic... had me rollin.. but overall, I think ice t exaggerated on the response saying that all the og's and westcoast would go against souljah boy for dissin him...LMAO. I really don't think ice t has that much flex. He's cool and all, but he just aint that respected imo.

It's not about an Old School / New School thing, it's just Ice telling this kid how he feels. I'll side with Ice any day and I agree with him 100%. The thing that gets me is this Soulja Boy being completely disrespectful to Ice-T, one of the guys that helped paved the way! If he doesn't agree with Ice that's fine, but at least take the time to take his comments into consideration, instead he's all "LET'S WIKIPEDIA HIS OLD ASS".

IMO, Soulja Boy is a fly-by-night rapper (I use that word loosely). He won't last unless you're talking about club shit that little kids are into.

lol i thought i was the only one that found it funny. Souljah Boy is actually a funny dude, although that line about ice-T's arm falling off when he tries to hit him was cheesy.

I don't know anyone including myself that wouldn't have responded back to ice, being one who paved the way or not... If Ice would have worded what he said in a more respectful way then I could see why someone would get mad at souljah boy.... but the way Ice came at him, I say it's free game from there. So the Wikipidia thing was a good response lol... and some of the jokes were funny. I see Ice T's side of things as well, but souljah boy didn't kill hip hop..He just capitalized on its death. .Why not go after one of the million others out there doing that same type of music? Maybe someone a little older.... I don't know that's just how i see it.
either way.... this is a pointless fued.....

basically I dont keep up with Soljah boy, I think that his songs using the same beats and being for the kids is novel and to me never taken seriously or just joints to get you on the floor at the club , ya feel me, I really never gave much thought to him representing hip hop to a great extent so I gotta do some diggin I mean, the only person I see out there deserving of this level of a dis would be the greatest rapper alive in his own mind, who sold a million and pop mo shit than a lil...anyhow I sort of cant see ice t doing this other than for his mixtape stunt I guess , because you think about it, even going back to Ice T time or b4 there has been wacker records out and many groups pawning themselves off as hip hop, but Soljah boy was caught in between being serious at the same time being comical, I really dont know if I was 17 and some dude I dont care who it was came at me from that angle and 30 or 40 years older it would be a tuff call, because in your mind and what you did and sold and did shows you made it for your peers and I know in the club there was a lot of old heads dancing to them soljah boy joints, so it was kind of big for him to at least still show respect to Ice T but still defend himself, not as a rapper but as a man that didnt say anything to him for all I can see, maybe something went down we dont know about ? but like i said this dis from ice t should have been to someone reallly putting themselves out there as the epitome of hip hop right now... I think if this was serious it is unfortunate for Ice T to aim at this kid so hard..even though I agree it is total garbage but is usable for a club and organized dance as wack as it might be it serve the purpose to get the club hype and have some fun if you are a DJ.

the Nahright blog said it best...ice-t looks like a mad old head and soulja boy looks like an insolent little kid.

the thing is, soulja boy isnt even relevant any more. if anything he has to lay low a few more months to let his hype cool down to even try to go up against his old singles. truth be told, ice-t looks out of touch going at soulja boy this late in the game...he should have gone at him earlier this year...although i do agree his music is garbage. he does have the most downloaded song in the history of the universe but ask anyone who their top three mc's are and i guarauntee soulja boy doesn't get mentioned once.

i think soulja boy is part of today's mentality (mostly of the record labels) of ride the horse till it dies. this horse is on its last leg--soon people will be respected because they are good...and thats as optimistic as i can be about it.

p.s. fuck hurricane chris too
