well im a registered user of sonar so i get the upgrade for a fair price. i feel you on cubase i tried it but really never liked it the Midi was never tight enough for me. im sure its fixed by now but im used to Sonar....lol just call me Cake daddy....lol no but i really miss the fact i cant load Rex files in sonar like Cubase but hey if thats all im missin' im cool i'll get recycle and keep movin. but if this is your thing really check it out.

Wow sonar 4 already. Im still learnin the advanced features of Sonar 3 P.E. . I "upgraded" from 2 and ill definatley be "upgrading" to 4. The suround sound stuff I can do without...... But the new editin and mixin features are things I was complainin was lackin in 3. Especialy the new layering feature within 1 track. I definately need that function ..

yea i was looking at that. its crazy because i have Sonar 3P.E. and i never used it trying to profect it...lol i done lil test prods and stuff,but never a full song. with that said i know im ready for 4 bout to buy that Tascam Joint and start learning the bass for a fucky real sound on my tracks. BUT DJ i would wait for a min the upgrade is always accepted for us Registered users. so i would wait for the bugs list from all the cats over on the Sonar forum. then i will strike.

Yeah ima wait alil. Ima try ro fully learn 3 PE. First. I've recorded full songs on it both mixtapes and regular songs. And I know all the basics and semi advanced stuff I need to record and mix music right now. Im glad I still have my Timeworks effects and lexicon reverb from version 2 (which for some reason 3 dooesnt have. ) .... Ima keep track of the cakewalk forums and take my time. ...... Damn I love cakewalk products Sonar and Pyro the mixtape djs best friend. Lol

Holy shit Pyro is dope! At first I was loading big ass mixtape wav files into Pro Audio, then I hear about Pyro. It makes things SO much easier.

f+c+ yeh i'm a dedicated sonar user (i only use pro tools and nuendo at work because that is what is 'standard'). there are some greatly needed features added . hopefully there aren't many bugs. i might wait till the .1 or beta version to buy the upgrade.
oh yeh them track folders look good (hope there are individual bus outs fx bins and levels controls panning etc. for each track) and the new freeze 'upgrade' was greatly needed and happily welcomed.
by the way anyone buying gigastudio 3.0 soon (7th of september). might be worth waiting for the beta there too bugs always show ap after a few thousand people have test driven the product. !!

all i know is i had major probs with sonar3(maybe beacuse i couldnt wait so i drove to thier spot and took it of the truck...lol)j/k but yo if you know sofware you know its gonna be bugs ill just chill till sonar 4.1 shit 3 is still new...lol plus being a registered Cakewalk cake daddy the upgrade will always be avaliable to me for a fair price. ill wait.

Yeah, I'm just gettin down with Sonar 3 PE and I was about to pre-order 4 PE, but after listening to yall, I'ma be patient and wait for the debugged version!

they stupid though from a marketing perspective. they killing sonar 3 now. sonar 3 is still hot, they still making sales off of it, why u wanna kill that product with sonar 4? Now every cat is gonna be like - wanna cop sonar 4, why would i fuck with sonar 3? and it dont really make a difference when it comes to making music. Sonar 4 got all this video sync and that bullshit and its cool if u into making videos, dvds or porn but it;s stupid to pay extra cash for features u aint even gonna use. bottom line - sonar 4 is cool but i would stick with sonar 3.

I just attended a seminar of Sonar 4, and I got to say I was Impressed. This is probably the best thing to get for a PC. The freeze function is mad dope. The folders. The surround mixing. If you want to dive into the surround mixing world, this is by far the cheapest way to go. the AV is dope. It now has its own audio click, and you can pick any sound to make the audio click, Cowbell, hi-tom, snare, stick, etc. You can even make your own .wav import your own .wav for the Audio click. Lots of Eyecandy of course. I purchased it. So now im working with that along with Pro-Tools on my PC. I use my Mbox for the sound card (ASIO). I have to say Sonar 4 is less CPU intensive than Pro tools. I love Pro-Tools, but the features on Sonar 4 allow me to work faster.

oh, you can also load up short cut keys from another program in Sonar, so if your familiar with the Pro-tools short cuts...No problem..just click on the template for the PT shortcut keys..and your now Pro Tools Hot Keys!! Dope!
