I've been using beatmaking software such as Reason and Fruityloops for a couple of months now. I really like it a lot, but in some ways, I also want hardware such as an MPC or an ASR. I was wondering what difference will it make if I do decide to purchase hardware. I've seen live bands perform and record stuff on an MPC live and that shit is hott. I wanna do the same thing.

i know ur new so ill go easy, but this topic has been beat to death and this thread will get closed

instead on relying on other peoples opionions, try it yourself and do whats best for you, u can do the same things with each, its just a personal perfernce

If u wanna see peoples opionions on this do a search, there is plenty of stuff out their on this

mpc (or other real time loop based pattern sequencers/samplers i.e sp-404) can be good for a different work flo.... but it seems you haven't done alot so until you've found your feet more with software it might be better to just use that
