Software Users - Using Drum Pads ?? Who and Why...

Hey guys -

I've been debating on whether or not I should be switching over the the M audio Trigger Finger, and wanted to know how many of you have one or a mpd..and has it helped your production any ?

I primarily used fruity loops for Sampled Beats and Drum Tracks -
And I currently Arrange and Compose - In Ableton.

So I figured - once i get one...my need for FL would be cut out..right ?

And since i can rewire - what should i use my mpd/TF with :

Battery 2 ?
Lin Drum ?
Reason Redrum (Rewired To Ableton) ?
FL FPC (Rewired To Ableton) ?
Or Abletons Built in drum program ?

I just wanna see yalls input and how its affected your productivity.

I had one, didn't really make a difference for me you know, trigging a sound is trigging a sound pads, keys, desk, its really a personal thing.. i dont think anyones experience is going to help you make your mind up .. if you like the feel of the pads get it if you like the keys get it.. but no pads didn't help me nor hurt me.

no i don't use the pads i use my keyboard..um i got the mpc like last year.. i used the pads a few times wasn't really impressed i mean like i said its just trigging a sound and for the price at the time it was $200 wasn't really worth that keyboard cheaper and or around the same price gave me more versatility.. its all what you like though man.. dont let me make you stray from what you might like.. i suggest you go to a music store and have a go at it

I use the mpd wit FL. mostly for drumming or ill use it to trigger samples or sliced samples. i dont use the FPC tho. i jus find the drums im lookin for then use a layer channel. shits dope IMO
