Well first off.... I'm new so I'm not an expert yet, plus I'm using Fruity loops, I've been practicing for 2 months & I've gotten better, I know how to at least make a full song & map it out with the playlist.

What I'm trying to do is find a program that will at least let me make my own sounds.... but it looks like I might need a drum set or keyboard to hook up to the computer to do that am I right? If so what's the best kind is there & what to get?

I was wondering if there was something I could get that could slice a certain sound or beat from a song, save it as a wave & let me use it as part of my beat?? I doubt that there is one right??Also, I'm looking for a program that will let me use my mircophone to rap & sing over my beat. Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I'm really into this & I want to get better at this.. I know also that I'm going to have to leave Fruity loops in the future when I get better.

no need to leave fruityloops but it's always good to broaden your view.

For the matter of sampling:
I'd advice cooledit for you, this program allows you to cut samples.
This is done in the "waveform view" screen.

For the matter of recording:
Besides that there is also a multitrack view, where you can load your beat into and choose a track in which you can record your vocals.

Cooledit used to be a product by Syntrillium nowadays Adobe bought it and owns it so the new cooledit by adobe is called Adobe Audition.

You should keep an eye open if there is someone in your neighbourhood who has some experience @ beatcreating and see if you can hang out for some tips or tricks.

goodluck!

ANSWERS
A. - Have you tried the synths that came fruity - fl keys (pianos) fl slayer (guitar) 3xOsc (Depends On The Setting,) etc., with the synths and a lot of tweaking you can make your self great sounds to start off with - dont be scurred to mess with these.
B. - Have you begun the tedious process of spending hours browsing the web - just for a few sample - do a search on illmuzik.com for "you need sounds" and you'll get a forum with links to great free sample sites.
C. - Have you tried the Wave traveller in fruity loops, just insert any .wav file into this plugin and you'll be amaze the amount of sounds you can make.
D. - Have you begun exploring the fx's in fruity - these are some powerful pieces of software and i recommend you experiment for a while
E. - Even the beepmap makes original and useful from of all things bitmap picture files
F. - This is prolly too advance but what most use are the soundfont player that plays the .sf2 file, which can contain an unlimited variety of sounds and instruments.
So don't leap before you creep - baby steps - learn and fully appereciate the limits of FL first, there's a lot you can do with what you have.

Now for your other questions - I suggest Sony Suite formerly Sonic Foundry of Acid 4.0 and SoundForge
For Recording
Acid takes the cake on this - there's nothing this baby cant do.....it's easy to use - but you gotta take time out to learn the deeper ish - there's whole lot to learn
For Sampling
SoundForge is a matter of 1. opening the file 2. select the portion you wanna chop/sample 3. Copy n Paste to a new track. thats all
hope i helped

truplay4real---If u need a program that u can rap on.The best of all time is Acoustica mp3 audio mixer v2.471.It's very, very easy to use and,it's a wave editor if u wanted to take sounds or loops off music.

Thanks EVERYONE!.... Well after months of testing with Fruity loops.... I know almost everything... I made my first beat... I would like to share it with ya'll but don't expect something that the neptunes or timbaland or anything.... I think it sounds somewhat descent... It sounds almost like something Missy Elliot could rap on.... How do you share music with others....?
