I already did the search but didn't find that many soft synth names dropped in the forums except Korg Legacy and Native Instruments B4. The only soft synth I know about is Sampletank and that East West Orchestra. The reason I'm asking this is cuz some guy is building me a PC just for making beats and recording and he's gonna be able to put any program out there onto it so ya know, I want to take this opportuinity to get some nice sounds. Thanks in advance.

Every time someone is talking about a VSTi, that what they are talking about.... go look in the Ressource section, you'll find some FREE VSTi and make a search on the net (or in the forum) for VSTi...

to name a few...

Everything from Native Instrument is mostly extraordinary, there are programs from LinPlug, reFX and Applied Accoustic Systems...
Emulator X and Proteus X from E-MU

...by the way... better to buy than to illegally download those programs...

Kontakt is more of a sampler isn't it? I might be thinking of something else though. And yeah, East West is crazy. Have you heard the sample audio tracks they have for it? It sounds so niiiiice.

@ Sam - Just read up on it a little bit. I'm gonna add it to the list, thanks man.
