and i'm going crazy on the triton making a ill ass beat.. Next thing I know, this cat Ice Mone comes in (he had a single with ying yang twins callled "Shawty Thick") with his cousin.. I didn't think nothing of it, I was just chillen in the zone doin my thing. As I'm gettin ready to leave his cousin comes up to me and talks to me about making some beats for him.. So I'm like sure gave him my number n shit and he told me they'd hit me up about doing some production on his album... Just like that, lol, it's crazy because Ususally when I go to guitar center I do my thing on the triton and I get someone asking me to make beats for them but this was like "Hmmmmmm?" Mad Funny When I Saw This Thread I Hand Kind Of A Similar Experience There Yesterday, I Was Fuckin Wit The Mpc Programin Sum Drums And This Kid Comes Over And Starts Playin A Melody On The Motif Alonmg With My Drums,then His Boy Came By And Did The Bassline On The Micro Korg, Shit Was Ill ,changed It Up A Few Times Too And Did A Ruff Rydas Anthem Remix, Prolly The Funnest Time Ive Ever Had At Guitar Center. Didnt Talk About Colabbin Tho Just Gave Props And Was Out

I had a similar exprience too. When I first got into producing and got my first keyboard, one of the guys there noticed me bein' 12 and thought it was cool that I was picking up producing and he had the same keyboard I was purchasing so he gave me his card and told me to drop by if I needed anyhelp with anything. Was pretty dope, but I never dropped by, didn't think I was ready cuz I didn't even have a beat done haha.

OMG the guitar center here in brooklyn is the worst, mad cats come in there thinking they got hot shit.... and its wack I mean WACK

Its funny casue one day i put a dude who worked there on blast, he was playin this wack ass beat and wanted my opionion, so i told him

He was like "you think you can do better? making beats aint easy" Im like "i know", and handed him my ipod, he plugged it into the system, i played some of my tracks on they big ass nice speakers, almost made dude cry, it made his shit sound like mouse farts... TRUE STORY

A few years back I went to GC and MRAS out in Southfield, MI to audition some monitors. I always take a CD of freshly mixed down tracks with me to listen so I have a reference on how shit should sound. I get to MARS's and their room was partially down, so I listened to some M1 actives and some little yamahas and then jetted to GC. I get there and their monitors are all hooked up to different consoles and whatnot. The salesman let me hop from station to station with my CD and at each one, I drew a crowd. I had my usual mix of deep house, detroit techno, ghettotech and hip hop with me and when I was done, I picked up a set of Studiophile SP5B's and something like 8 cards from cats that wanted me to hook 'em up with beats and a couple of wannabe male diva type house "singers" that wanted to collaborate (I passed on that shit, I have stories about them dudes...)
