anyone here know how to simulate a record drag/stop on a wav sound? any program/software that does this? i know i could purchase a cd turntable, but that means i have to burn the sound/song/whatever and then play it on the table and drag/stop it that way...then record it back into something like pro tools. i also know that there are programs out there (final cut or final scratch or sumthin') that allow you to play and scratch wav sounds that are on your computer. but what i wanna know is .....IS THERE ANOTHER WAY? is there any software that allows for this. hope my question is clear. HELP!

i dont really know what a record drag is ......but if you're tlaking about slowing down the pitch of a sound gradually - then i would just use any software and setup an event on the tempo or pitch where it would gradually go down - i can show you how to do this fl studio if u have that -

i think you answered you own question really there are prorams that allow you to do this im not sure of the names but a search on download.com would porbably bring up a load, without real turntables or CD ones then no i don't know of any other way of doing it !

Pitch bend the wav sample. Im sure all wave editors have an effect or process called pitch shift or pitch bend. Pitch shift ovbiously changes the pitch of the wav, but you can do it with or without changing the duration. Pitch bend can simulate a drag or stopping of a turnatable. It can also mimic a keyboardist or guitarist bending a note. The drag or stop is a often used technique of Michael Watts and other software mixtape "dj's".

I can get this effect in cubae buy toggling the tempo wheel, very straight foward. MOst wav editing progreams should have to abiliity to re-create this effect pretty easiley. U just gotta reseach.

Wavelab 5 can manipulate a wav file anyway you want it.

I think it's Effects > Time/Pitch > Pitch Bender > Turntable Losing Power.

I'm using Audition so I can't remember if CEP has it.
