I'm sick and tired of producers, once they get the label behind them, keep sending us the same formula, I think Kanye is turning into Swiss, he'll end up in the same boat. Once the media is tired of their style, getting kicked to the corner to wait it out again... Look at Swiss, he can barely reach the lame light, he had to team up w/ R.Kelly and Cassey in order to be seen again... Kanye is on his way there. I dont understand why they dont hit us w/ a different formula, becuz the artist is only paying for their name anyways..... Who knows???

hm. would you say the say about pete rock or Premo?

of course not. that would be blasphemy

to me it's like this: a sick beat is a sick beat. Look @ actors llike Denzel washington. Good actor no doubt, but has he done any stretching in his roles? Will you ever see Denzel play a retarded person or a gay nigga? Nah. It's the same w/ producers. Just cause you don't switch your formula doesn't mean you suck, leave the diversity to some else.

But see the thing is that it happens to anyone hitting a label, including an artist....look at Joe Budden...whaddafugg they changed him completely trying that commercial sounding Jiggy type shidd thatz not really him...but anyhow first impressions are sometimes the last but anyhow he got a lil paycheck but as far as producers yeah Kanye will go the way of Swizz very soon...but see the thing is Manji you cannot compare Premo, RZA or Pete....what they were doing wasn't really for the commercial aspects or the Fame really there are soooo many more opportunities in the music biz as far as production and there has NEVER been soooo many capable producers.....so what does that tell you??? the law of supply and demand....you can be replaced and labels are doing anything and everything they can to make records as cheap as possible so they can reap as much profit from a project.......most projects have some direction that sometimes conflict or make it hard on a producers creativity..so they're either gonna burn Kanye out or he'll just fade out becuz thatz how it is for a producer nowadays he'll still get work while hes hot but after that he might be done....its gonna be hard to hold down legendary status just on commercial appeal alone so thatz to his disadvantage.....

As you said, Freak, I think it as to do with the fact that they become so popular so fast... they have some beats who they are known for. And since people love them for there new particuliar sound, they have to go on with the same thing...

And I'm almost sure that artist will ask for beats "that sound like the one you did and that's playing on the radio"... wouldn't you argee?

It once went like this: radio was made for music, and now: music is made for radio....changing your style to fit the trendyness is now part of the package unfortunately.

I agree w/ BigD., but I heard Premo say once in an interview, that a lot of his beats that went on to be a success were not meant for radio play, he was making fun of those DJs and they hyped him up instead...People are playing for you name, so why not tell them "hey, I have this hot new style, you can be the first to pimp it out, before everyone else wants it." instead of mass producing the same old thing, and truely if a producer says"we'll i'm just giving them what they want" their in it for the money and not for the love...Even Kanye said it himself, most of them spend all their advances up front on cars and jewles just to keep up w/ the Jones....Why, invest for the future... or in a studio, so u can cut your cost and save money on your own projects or others.... duh.

Thanks for the Replys yall...
One Love.
