@tomkillsjerry Yeah I hear ya, man. Same for me. I do still watch tv and all that but most of my non-working time is now spent making beats. I'm still a rookie tho, started about 3-4 months ago. Gonna be some time before my stuff sounds as polished as yours.

Hey guys,

I have been playing around with FL Studio recently, new to this. Check this beat, it is quite short and simple, thanks for the feedback :)

I've been listening to Future recently, my goal was to create something with more convetional sound and arrangement. Let me know how that sounds. Cheers!

@Mycelial_Cords im really digging the piano in here along with the little percussion drum and the choir vocals are pretty dope. Very nice transitioning with the synth sound and the hi hats little kicks. Very well put together.

Headed to work I will provide feedback later today when I get off here is something I came up with

@Matt-D shit was pretty funky kinds of reminds of some George Clinton. I like how u transitioned the paino sounds. I wasnt really feeling the demonic vocal sample felt it was fine without all that.

@Mycelial_Cords The beat is fire. but i feel you should start it at 58 seconds from there it naturally progresses
@Smokey this has alot of potential. the mix could use some work. your vocal and that choir sample are competing at 37 seconds when the choir is chopped you can hear the vocal pop out and it sounds good but at 1:27 it gets lost in the mix id pull down 7-800 hz in the choir maybe 2db and cut some 1k pan left or right and pull it into stereo. also pull that gunsmoke down 2-3db pan it opposite
@Matt-D NICE! dig that vibe
@Beats by khalon thats dope sounds well mixed
@dylanrowleyprod would sound right at home on rodeo nice work
@John Wallstreet shit that mf slaps! nas would be proud

If i didnt leave you feedback its probably because you didnt do the same for others.JS

@tomkillsjerry omg my man u killed it at the 135 the break and transition was so fucking dope. Violins are so here with the nice 808 drums. Very dope work!

@Mycelial_Cords nice solid beat and you always surprise me at one point in your beat with a sound that grabs my attention.
@Smokey that beat is my jam!! like the vocals too, just felt like they were too loud for some parts of the song but overall this is dope.
@tomkillsjerry both beats were great!! But I like the one you did on your galaxy, don't get me wrong the first one was smooth too but once I find that track that catches my attention like the second one did it's a wrap lol! Good Stuff.
@Joe you really came through on pleading! like this one a lot, and your drums were on point. Oh yeah thanks for the feedback, but what's demonic about singing through a vocoder? I understand you not feeling my singing or vocal arrangement lol, but I assure you it's not demonic

@Matt-D oh shit lmfao no clue u was signing into a vocoder my bad rofl. Just the sound gave me the impression of an entity talking to me n shit u were getting all paranormal on me. I will take a listen back my man.

@Joe LOL!! yeah i'm practicing my song writing skills as you can see needs work, and I can't sing a lick but that vocoder helps me to demo what I want someone to sing to help me get out the words and vocal melodies. That's actually my first time trying to take complete control of a song as far as writing and producing my own stuff without sampling.

@Matt-D i feel you im more of a writer myself also. Like i said man i really liked the funky feel to it. Some earth wind n fire came to mind too when vibing to this again. I listened to it like 4 times over.

Thanks a lot for your input guys! Happy that you enjoyed the beat as I was proud of it myself.

Nice sound selection, reminds me of Outkast (intro mostyl) x Logic vibe. Drums have a nice crispy quality to them, great sound. I like the arrangement (chops around 1:10 happen too often though) as it has nice key changes involved. I'd say that the main area the beat lacks in is mix, some sounds get blocked by others and volume spikes seems random at points. It sounds good for most part, check out with eq whether you've got some frequencies that the sound doesn't need. Nice one!

I like the vibe of it a lot, the lead around 1:15 works really well with the background. The arrangement develops the main melody well by incorporating subtle pads and textures as it progresses, would be dope to hear a nice breakdown or to hear the beat in context of an album, I feel it could go well with some speech on top that leads to a related track. Lots of options, good stuff!

Man that change has potential in it. I personally don't like flanged drums that much, maybe if you'd go easier with the effect it'd be better. Vocal sounds great there. I like how it gets Odd Futures vibe later on. I think it's you best work in terms of compositon and arrangement, really musical but could be rapped on with different mixing (there's too much focus on too many elements, it seems like vocals, drums and leads want to be in the highlight). My main critism would be production, I think that different effects could transfer the idea (I feel you were going for some Velvet Underground x Earl Sweatshirt mix) better but as I remember you're not using a DAW so that may not be an option. I'm still impressed by the idea itself.

@Joe man your simple but effective beat had me trippin haha its different
Made this one just now. The picture on sound cloud is Interstate 10 where I grew up the house we lived in was about 300 yards from where this picture was takin. Its a small ass town but out of 1500 homes 800 were flooded lot of people I grew up with lost everything
Tracks Called High Water

@tomkillsjerry Damn, that's messed up man. Hope you and everyone you know is okay at least.

Anyway, the arrangement of this is really good. The track just gets better and better as it goes on. Not sure if you want vocals on here, but to me its fine as is.

@Joe That's really dope but there's something not right with it imo. I think it's a bit too eclectic after the changeup. It's great, but just a little too much for my taste, maybe one less element/some more space. Good arrangement on this as well, dope changeups. It's definitely not boring.
