That was entertaining all the way through. Great mix, that 808 bass is super heavy in my headphones. Sounds real nice. The automation filters throughout are a dope touch to keep things interesting. Great drums, hi hats going crazy, nice bongo that’s subtle on the far left. Intro was dope. Very good all around.

Messing round with some funky sounds today! This one is all about the bass line!

The bassline doesnt sound in key with the rest of the song, sounds like its in a different scale. If you redid the bassline I think it would work a lot better. Try playing with some reverb on the drums and piano too, the panning on the toms and synth is a nice touch. The only thing bothering me really is the bassline, it might just be my ears Im not sure, but thats what Im hearing. I think maybe one or two notes are a semitone off.

Bammin. This is dope as fuck, the composition is really on point. I think the drums let this one down. Great west coast beat, I wish Id made it.

@C12omega I think this sounds cool, stays pretty interesting throughout, when the drums started being filtered out I was expecting a sick breakdown, and then the beat came back in, caught me by surprise, thats a good thing, I like being surprised by trap. Plenty of room for an artist to spit all over.

@EsquireMusic111 Thats some real smooth flippage, nice video too, nice setup you got there, Im slightly(very) jealous.

@BlackSwanFly Im getting strong premo influence vibe here, I think this is pieced together very well, the bass sounds nice, i like the vinyl crackle, I like the drums, the beat sounds well balanced. My only criticism would be that its slightly repetitive, but then most beats for emcees without the emcee on them usually are.

Heres a couple tracks I recorded last week, its my mates 12 year old daughter and me making "Drill Music", because its what the kids bloody want ffs.
My first ever attempt at drill, and its not really drill as the drums have some coherence to them. But would love to know what you think, I think shes got a very good future ahead of her.

Nothing here yet.

Feelin this, I think it's a bit repetitive though (I also find my beats are the same in that regard). I think it could do with variation on the 2nd and 4th bar at least. The chords and bassline both suffer from this. Everything sounds nice though, well mixed and everything is cohesive. I think the problem I'm hearing wouldn't be as noticeable with vocals though.
Easily my favorite beat in this thread. Real nice. Same as the first, the mix and EQ are great by my substandard ear on my 5" monitors. Wasn't sure where it was going by the drum intro, I almost passed on it initially but once it all came together it was real nice.

Not really my style, too poppy for me. However, on a sheer technical standpoint its probably has the best variation, and its all cohesive and well made. I can't say that I'm nearly that good at soundscaping and changing up the sound in the way you did in this. Granted I cant say that I'm as good or better than anyone here, I just know what I like when I hear it.

I really dig the sample choice in this for the most part. The biggest gripe I have is the repetitive sample throughout the beat... i don't know how to describe it. It's not an arpeggio, but it goes down whatever scale it may or may not be in, and repeats. I feel like it sticks out like a sore thumb and the beat as a whole would have been better without it. Had that not been there this would probably be my favorite beat in the thread.

***Best to listen with headphones. My bass isn’t coming through phone speakers***

First boom bap beat done with Logic, I tried mixing it as best I could. Still a newbie. I look back and think the filter on part of the drum make it sound a little cheap now that I listen to it, oh well on and upward!

I like it. Really get that boom bap vibe from it. I do agree with your comment on the drums though. I feel like they're way too understated. Boom bap is called that for a reason. The drums should be big. These are tiny and inconsequential.
Just in time for Halloween. It has a scary vibe to it. It’s dope ! The drums were my favorite part. The pornstar….she really added a climatic opener....
(ignore this. I don't get how post formatting on this forum works.)

Not my style, so I'm probably biased here.
I don't really like it. The cadence, delivery and flow aren't for me. Sounds really generic, and honestly sounds like you're slurring alot. It's not just the accent. I can get past that. I'll also say that theres some EQ work you need to do at the very least. Your vocals should be quite a bit brighter to make them sound crisp. Sounds like they're missing the entirety of the top end. Maybe even adding some overdubs would help as well. I don't know. Drill isn't my thing.

Like I said, I don't get post formatting on this, so I'm gonna post again once I figure out how to add my beats for y'all to criticize to their fullest. Hit me hard with that shit. I'm tired of posting to friends who are too nice to tell me what's wrong with em

I generally make my beats initially as just the standard 3 16 bar verses and a hook, no samples. I'll add a bit of variation between verses, but not much. I'm lazy. Sue me.

I do like the bridge between the 2nd hook and the 3rd verse in kuragari, but thats about as complicated as my beats get. At least listen through the first hook on these, cause it does change up.

I'm cooking something up that I like better than these, but It'll probably have to be in the next showcase.
