Hey Fam...I took @Armani 's not-as-lousy as originally thought's advice and returned to the beat that I had put in Warzone and this is how it came out. Any additional feedback is welcome.

still doesn't feel like enough, maybe play around with the 2nd sample a little more? or like let it play fully once (without looping, like u did near the end) a while and call that a "chorus", idk. synth stuff might work wonders on this, or a classy classy piano. + can you PLEASE compress the drums a little? they're begging you to.

(gg on actually taking feedback tho. not many are capable of it characteristically)

Thanks for the feedback @InsideOutBeats The BPM matched but maybe there was something else such as the key and where the drums hit, exactly. In this case, I think I got the BPM right but I pushed the Acapella a bit to the right in the pattern arranger (unknowingly messing up the sync) because I wanted him to start rapping later. Like you said, I probably should have paid more attention to where it aligned on the pattern arrangement, yet the key was still off so I need to work on matching that as well. Thanks.

I tried to fix it based on feedback received (as of 1 PM 5/31):
PRO TIP: If you are having trouble aligning an acapella, get the original song, align that to your beat and tempo, then use that as a guide for the acapella.
Seems the acapella is off to me, so try that method, it could help a lot.

On dreaming eternally, you should check your levels, everything seems pretty loud, I think that main reversed loop could sit a lot further back in the mix, with everything so loud the drums are having a hard time being right up front, they are sitting under the sample. Play with the levels so things sit nicer and play nicer all together.

This reminds me of the meme in the thread about the producer trying to make the perfect beat:

ive met a few artists recently who are talented as fuck, and when I ask whats your youtube/spotify/soundcloud or released music, they say I dont have one and havent released anything. When I ask why, its because they want to make the "perfect song" which doesnt exist. We are our own worst enemies sometimes. Had a really really dope boom bap emcee at the studio, he hasnt released anything and hes fucking sick with it. We have some female singers who are really talented too.

Nerd battle remix. I gave the beat a little more love and replaced the "woodpecker" snare haha.

@Fury Beats My honest feedback in bullet point form.

- Main melody is dope
- 808 kick sounds weak and clips. You probably didn't set your drum sampler voices to mono. I can hear the 808 bass overlap the previous kick creating distortion.
- Snare could use a little reverb to give it some life
- Drum pattern is boring and sounds robotic. Change the timing and velocity of your kicks, snare and hi hats manually to create a groove
- Please buy yourself a good multiband compressor/expander and mastering limiter

we all should make friends with the compressor. I mean not like starting a roboerotic obsessive love life with them cuz that'd be the demise of both of youse but just a healthy friendship. goes a long way.

I'd use a slight compressor on almost everything if my cpu could handle it.

eh imo the wait is not that much of a problem, but you should be waiting for the perfect marketing plan/budget, not the perfect song. put a good music video on ANYTHING and people will fuck with it nowadays.

(I mean, not ANYTHING obviously, if ur sound also resonates then more people will come back to it but u get the point)

Ive started replacing a lot of compression with soft clipping saturation. I still compress peaks on things like kicks but also add saturation to add body to the kick, also on my drum bus and my main output chain, but more for colour on the busses and to give my final limiter less work to do, on many of my mixes I dont even need a final limiter, i can easily get to an integrated LUFS of -10 to -12 before even adding a limiter.

Multiband compressor* is your friend. I like having control of individual frequencies. I always add one to my master bus right before the limiter.
