the turntable is the Numark PT01 scratch it has a little fader in the corner of the unit. i made a few upgrades to it (platter stabilizer, on/off switch and better fader, mp3 player and speaker mod) there's all kinds of stuff you can do with these and there's a whole movement based around it called "portablisim" (The art of djing/scratching on portable turntables) ive been a portablist for around 7-8 years now.. i also take it with me when i go digging for vinyl(trust me it comes in handy lol) heres some vids for context it runs $129 and then youll probably spend about another $150-170 on basic mods
@Sole Element Buy You A Drink. This is a good remix, suits the vocal very well. The only thing thats sticks its head out is the piano, its a little bit louder than everything else when it comes in, nothing major, not really sure it needs fixing tbh, apart from that its all good for me.
Tupac. Not feeling this one so much, pacs vocal is clashing with the sampled vocal. Its just not meshing for me like the other one did.
It might be a bit better if pacs vocal was louder in the mix or the sampled vocals lower in the mix. Pacs main vocal is quieter than the sampled one.
@Dj Iceman Bounce. Real throwback type beat. I think it could use a big boomy kick, seems a little empty in the low end and a boomy kick that only hits on the first beat of every 2 bars could make all the difference.
Friday vibes. Sonically this one sounds a lot better, full throughout the frequency spectrum, decent boom on the kick and crispy hat. Where did you get that turntable? I want one. Wheres the mixer lol?
Looks like you are just pressing a button instead of using a mixer. I need that in my life.
Ive been very busy the last few days, makes a change.
just some stuff i was playing around with last night...
no, it was listening to all them old hip hop instrumentals in that thread. And also hearing how KRS 's new album went way back with the beat style so I thought Id get my sample on and make some throwback beats.I love the samples you chose for the first two beats. I agree with the comment that the first beat would benefit if you would take out some snare hits. I love how you bring in new elements. Really dope.
For the third beat. Man you really went crazy on the instrumentation but still resulted in a very dope beat. Only thing for me is that the bass sounds too electronic for my taste.
Is it the new studio that increases your output lately?
