EDM/Trap Producer
What:
Love the placement of all the sounds you got going, espicailly the drums, But to me it started sounding a little loopy after the intro like bugsy said, You should try adding more sounds/complexity to keep it exciting

Killing You Softly:
Loved this one, Melodies are good, piano on point, Didn't feel as loopy as "What" because there's different melodies that were keepin it fresh.

Think About It:
Once again love the placement of all the sounds, Melodies are great, they go together perfectly, Everything's smooth!

Your mixing is fine, Though if you don't already have a good headset/headphones I'd get some, They help me alot, What I do to get a better mix, since I'm not in a big studio is, I play my track on as many different types of speakers as possible, Iphone, PC, Headset, Vehicle, And If it sounds all good then your good to go! I'd suggest downloading a program called puu.sh so you can easily upload your .mp3 or .wav onto a link that you can open on your phone so you can test it out the mix before uploading it on SC.

Made this yesterday, Its not finished yet because I stopped feeling it, I played it like a hundred times while I was making it because I loved how it dropped, Thats probably why. Has anyone else over-played there own beat to the point of not wanting to finish it?

Goosebumps:

Made this today, and it's my longest track yet (3:30)! My goal was to create as many melodies as possible to stop it from getting boring and repetitive. Making this was by far the most fun I've had while making a track, I'm even starting to see my own style form! :)

@OmJo keep it up, i hear som potential. 1 advice I can give u is to spend more time listening and analyze de music dat inspires ur beats, so u can make ur sounds stronger. U dont necessarily gotta put more sounds but jus accentuate de ones u wan stand out.
@Pouncey Ur beats sound tight and i can hear de originality in der, sounds like som videogame trap, its cool.

Loved the beat man, especially the drums, althought i think its needs more sounds/hits going on as it starts to feel loopy after the hook part.

Yeah with this one I tried keeping simple. Maybe too simple. I can see about adding some other sounds in, and see what works.

now this one is a banger! loved everything man. just make the snare a bit more louder or phatter or harder to suit the beat.

When I come back from work later tonight I'll play around with the snare.

love how you composed this man, melodies are not clashing together and goes side by side...very good stuff man.

Thanks! Since I started making music I've always struggled with melodies, amazing how much a midi keyboard helps.

your not pretty bad at mixing man, i say just keep practicing.
peace!

Appreciate it.

I tried re-arranging some parts to make it not get boring until the end. I think one of my problems is my beats are too long? A lot of beats I see are around 2 minutes long. Even your longest is 3:30 (I'm about to listen to it now) so maybe that might reduce the repetitiveness?

I can't really afford high-end speakers or headphones right now, saving up for university, but that's sort of what I've been doing. I have cheap yet decent headphones ($30) I use to mix everything on my laptop, then use the speakers we have on our home computer (not cheap) to make my final mix and make sure everything sounds good before finally uploading it. Though I had a few issues after exporting these files as wav's from FL Studio and it messed up my mix on the drums so I had to redo those quickly as I only noticed it after uploading to SC.

Thanks, great advice. That's what I tried doing with What, and I've been trying to find time to do that, but so far my tracks are more inspired by how I'm feeling the moment I'm making them than from the music I listen to.

Man I hope this will be easy to read when I post it.

Well that didn't work... Anyway... My turn.

@Bugsy Thanks for returning the feedback. Since you only have one beat here, went to listen to a couple more on your SoundCloud account. Dreams, which is a dope beat btw, and Where Have The Love Songs Gone. Was that sampled or you playing the keys? Burn Down was also sick. You have serious talent.

@Pouncey Glad you have 3 beats in this thread lol

Mellow D's : Only suggestion I can come up with is to increase the clap a bit, maybe layer it with another snare.

Goosebumps : Those drops tho.... I know how you feel, tiring yourself out to a beat your making to the point you just don't want to work on it anymore. I've literally done that dozens of time. Take some time off from this and come back to it in a week maybe? Because I like what I heard in such a small sample.

Challenge : This is awesome. Different melodies that all fit together so well. Like with Mellow D's, I'd just say turn up the snare/clap (and maybe the kicks just a tiny bit). Other than that, great job on this one too.

@Kevlar070 Also listened to Escorts again (I could see Kendrick or ABSoul rapping over this beat easily) and Organized Brutality which is a great f'n beat I must say.

Magnetar : It's definitely different. Which is a good thing. I might be too novice to get the story being told, however.
