its not the bassline specifically its the more a lack of a steady rhythm section which is bass/lowbrass and keys/guitar/synth/strings playing a progression of chords through a key.
arrangement gets easier as you get your workflow down. something i recommend (if your not already doing this) Is build your chorus first everything falls into place after that.
mixes sound fine. every part has its place in the frequency spectrum. I usually set a High Pass filter to 100-150hz on everything but the sub mid bass and kick. ill also have two basses one for subs one for mid-bass.

Okay, I'll go back and work on these beats after work tonight. For the 2ND beat I might bring the brass stabs from the bridge into the verse (at a lower volume or octave).

For the club one I don't know yet, I had already added the male chorus to help with that. I'll think of something.

And thanks for the frequency charts. I guess you have to group the bass and kicks to a send channel, the n set the pass filter there?

Let me know if Greag Savage and DIY Music can get the strings to sound like this ?, and if they can ill do it even better :) They must be able to hear what they sampled from me LOL

@tumenBeats : I like the sample choice and how you chopped and looped it. The beat sounds like it was mixed a little low and I thought you could add more percussion like hi hats, triangles, or cymbals

I changed the mix on the 808 and the overall mix a little bit. Tell me what you think:

thx man, your feedback is much appreciated!

your beat is very trippy - in a good way. "double cup" is the perfect name for it, lol. i feel the clap could be a little bit louder to bang more. the melody is very dope, did you play it yourself? i especially like the high strings!

just did this one, sampled from a movie soundtrack.

What's up guys, heres a new beat I made. It's got moody trippy vibes to it, let me know what you think! I'm new to producing so any sort of tips would also help!
