JR - The answer - i like the sample a lot, this is mixed kinda funky. Too many high frequencies i think, n the snare needs a little low end n less compression or LOWER volume ;p or a whole diff snare IMO. other than that its a dope beat.
Spitting cobra - bass line is the shit, pannings nice n spread out real full sound.
this is somethin i jus started messing with 15 mins ago, real rough mix ...I kno that synth needs 2 b fixed it gets way 2 loud, let me kno wut u think : http://soundcloud.com/2infamouz/g-funk-wc-3
like the sick melody of it all, i only heard off my laptop so i coulnt hear anything low. but nice feel on what i heard. itll be dope when ur done i bet
Ripe-you already know man...you have a good ear for samples and love the rugged, grimy drum selection.
ayron-comin with that new g funk era vibe i see...good choice of layers and sounds. Felt like I was in cali puffin a spliff with snoop.
Here’s a little somethin i whipped up today...expresses how I feel about most of commercial/mainstream music in general. Kept it real simple, wanted to bring that classic drum break over a loop vibe back on some old school sh!t.
@Just Ripe- Cobra is not loading but out of the ones you uploaded I'm feelin Plethora the most. It sounds like some old grime time Mobb Deep shit. Nice. You always find some grimey crazy samples.
@ayr0n: Sounding pretty cool so far. An I idea I had off the top is to layer the main lead synth with some strings playing the same melody. Or maybe even replace it with some strings to give it a more dramatic west coast sound. Harder dre type g-funk. The synth you bring in at the end is sick BTW.
@mikeblack: Nice hard sample sounds like some Wu Tang shit. Like JR mentioned a cool bassline would be dope over that. Even just a simple one note bassline would set it off.
