wassup yall its raining outside and im at the public library and im going to share something a little diffent today than what i normally post to share, im going to share a song i just recorded, i want experience engineering vocals so i decided to come out of a 13 year writers block and made my first track ive recorded in a really long time, maybe this might lead to a new cd or mixtape or something who knows? im alway told that i should make songs to my beats from everyone i know, any way im looking for some feedback especially about the mix, i know it isnt the best but i could use some pointers aand i know you guys wont hold anything back so let me have it...also what do you guys think of my song idea? i have ideas for a music video as well but for now heres my track

@d.fusion I like this one a lot! dope scratching along with great drums and sample.
@Klypse man that's that sort of vibe I like a lot!! and it's got your touch on it. Another thing I like is the artwork to go with the beat it really fits well bro.
@dBtheProducer That beat is classic hip hop! Verses were good you did a great job storytelling. Favorite line was "I empty out pockets like airport standards" that's one of those punchlines that's dope and makes you laugh at the same time, nice.

hey ya'll! i've been (trying) to make beats for a little while but never really put myself out there. and i've got to say, this thread makes me feel inadequate just from viewing the heat this community is capable of.
@Matt-D your stuff gives off that "old-school-sitting-in-a-fancy-club-puffing-a-cuban-cigar" vibe, I'm loving it.
@d.fusion that beat is something that'll make folks wanna boogie, I love the strings you added as it progresses and the scratches are an awesome touch with the samples. Over all you know how to keep a listener interested throughout the piece.
@Klypse 30 seconds into your beat and I had to follow your soundcloud, your stuff gives me a nostalgic feeling. I'm definitely going to go through your soundcloud today.

West Coast Type Beat "Good Life"
@producervibes: Loved the drums sounds and drum programming on this one. Tbh, I didn't really like the melody/composition it didn't sound hip-hop to me, more like something I'd hear on late-nite informercial, no offense.
That Migos you did was fire! Mix was point and the subbass was excellent. Can think of anything I'd change. I don't think you'll have an issue selling that one bruh.

@d.fusion - The chops are dope. The whole groove of this is nice. I think the kick could use a tad bit more punch. Maybe add a bit of automated delay/reverb to the chops to help fill in some of the space in between some of the chops or bring in another element to help fill it in a bit. Overall really dope man. The vocal scratches fit in nicely.
@Klypse - This is cool. The chops are smooth but it does sound a bit empty/like it's missing something. It might be the low end. I feel like the drums could come up some more since the beat is relatively simple soundscape-wise.
@dBtheProducer - Were you going for that kind of distorted/analog effect on your vocals? The mix sounds good to my ears. The kick could come up a lil bit. Not a big fan of the hook but the verse are on point.
@Matt-D - The sample is dope. I like the flip as well and all the different elements that come in and out throughout.
@.wstrn.iz - Listening to BITCH...I can def hear a rock influence in this. I think the right MC could do work on this track. It's giving off story telling vibes as I"m listening.

@dBtheProducer That track was dope as hell. The MC made it 1000x better, I like how the snares are reverb and the base was dope. I saved it on my playlist...good job

I like the first one "chain" the best. I'm jealous of your melody cuz I want to use that myself lol. The drums are dope
The second one is dope also, but I think you should turn down the reverb on the hats.
The third one reminds me of street fighter for some reason (dont ask me why lol) but that was dope also. Great job Nothing really bad to say about them

@wizard - I like the intro a lot, kick has a nice tone. I feel that the snare is too muffled and I don't like the flutes - don't sound like high quality samples. With few changes the whole beat could lead into an album or something. It doesn't seem to work by itself imo.
@Koey - Really nice piano and drums hit hard. The effects and vocals sound really dope here. I just feel that the balance of instruments is off, it seems that you've left some unnecessary frequencies (on horns, the am FX, organs), they're fighting for space. Other than that it's a solid and unique beat.
@producervibes - Composition is pretty cool but the beat needs mixing. The bass overpowers the rest, making the whole sound dull. Kick is lost in the mix, the clave (?) is too loud compared to the rest. Also, the whole mix focuses on the left side leaving you with weird stereo image. I'd say that all elements are in the compositon but mix is lacking. Good stuff anyway.
