Thanks for spinning gold out of what I thought was a dead sample. It's really cool to see other people put their unique creative process on your own music.
It was a pleasure, I look forward to doing it again. Maybe over time we can put a whole album together and put it out.

Every now and again I'll mine through my old beats and half baked projects to find an idea that can be developed further. Sometimes I'll find little melodies or chord progressions that I can either sample or re-create. It's also great for re-discovering VST patches and FX chains.

These three beats were written during lockdown in the spring of 2020. I was trying to learn jazz guitar and went deep into the lo-fi world. I made a string of other beats, all of varying quality, during that time. The inspiration for the "theme" was capturing the laid back, care-free, nature of my time living in Barbados.

Apologies in advance for the mix. That computer crashed and I don't have the project files. I threw these up in Logic with a little EQ and Limiter to help.

Cheers,

@BiggChev Of the 3 Breeze is my favourite, I wouldn't mind sampling the intro and doing something with that in a bit of a Pete Rock style. That first few seconds before the bass drops is giving me ideas.
Really like the bass on it too.
The bass is a little muddy on "Lime Wedges" but I suppose it is what it is given the circumstances, I still like it. A lot of my beats have far worse muddy bass than that.
