Should i or shouldnt i????

Ok.. been usin' software for awhile now. i saw the mpc 1000 today and fell in love with it. my question is, should i buy it or should i stick with software and just build with that?? comments and suggestions please.

im goin through the same thing right now and after getting on a 1000 at guitar center, i decided im gonna save up and get one--the thing with the 1000, in my opinion (after researching a bunch about these things) is catered towards integrating software and hardware. it's small, it has a usb port for data transfer so basically you can edit and obtain all your samples on your computer, make loops with your software etc and load it in there easy. i would say go for it--i am

software alows you to do more from my experiance. if you are an experimantal producer, software would prob be better.

naw seriously i dont care what kinda of software u use having an MPC around(any MPC) cannot hurt. Its good to experiment.

The MPC 1000 will offer you that hands-on feeling that you can't get with software alone. You can use it to compliment your software, not replace it. I'd say go for it!

im not quite sure about the transition though. also, is it good enough to be an "industry standard"? if i go into the studio with it, will i get the respect like i would with a MPC2000xl or other?? im askin' this because i've had a lot of opportunities where i would come in the studio coz an artist management company or a indie label felt my beats were good. when i got there, i didnt know jack shit about using an Mpc. ehhh... im just rambling here! PEACE

if ur beats are dope, i don't think it matters what you use in the end. i use a 2000xl.. but from what i've heard the 1000 is a good machine

how would that setup work though? an MPC 1000 with my laptop. Can you create melodies with the MPC pads?? like basslines and sh!t??

Its my understanding that you can hook up a midi keyboard to the mpc and you can also control things with those pads (mpc heads might have to expand on this because im still kind of curious about this too)

Definitely. You would get just as much respect with the 1000 as you would with any other MPC. As long as you got an MPC im pretty sure they wont treat it differently then a 2000.

Also, if you master the 1000, all the MPC's will be pretty easy. Even the 4000. Except you just wont know all the little tips & tricks on it. But you can make a beat on all of them if you know ione of them.

the 1000 has the same basics as a 2000xl or other mpcs so once u learn one it wont be that hard to learn how to use its "bigger brothers". And yes u can hook up a mpc with a keyboard controller.In my set up i have a keyboard goin into my mpc and my mpc hooked up to my puter so i can control reason directly with either my keyboard or mpc pads. So that goes to show u have to abandon one for the other.im my opinion its better to combine both and you can joy the benefits of hardware and software!!! ....HOLLA AT YA BOY
