IM USING PROTOOLS LE 6.81 FOR MY RECORDING........BUT If my compression settings were at:Threshold -10 db, Ratio 3:1, Attack Fast and release somewhat quick.....What OUTPUT GAIN WUD YOU RECOMMEND TO BRING THE LEVELS BACK UP? AND SINCE COMPRESSION KILLS YOUR HIGH FREQUENCIES IN VOCALS DO YOU HAVE TO EQ AND BOOST THE HIGHS BACK UP? DO YOU GUYS COMPRESS THAN EQ? AND LAST QUESTION WHEN RECORDING DOUBLE UPS DO YOU COMPRESS THE DOUBLE UPS ALSO OR JUST THE MAIN LEADS?PLEASE CAN YOU GUYS TAKE THE TIME TO ANSWER EVERY QUESTION ......I WUD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.......

I would really try n help u but the thing is i don't record vocals.. and maybe there's something about this on google..

Just typ in mixing vocals and i know u'll get lots and lots of results

God damnit, I swear this is the 3rd time I've answered you're question Authority!! For fucks sake!!! You don't need to create 3 seperate threads or whatever to ask the same damn thing. It's obvious the output gain needs to be at +3.2176db. Ask a stupid question (multiple times), and you will get a stupid answer...

EVERY SONG IS DIFFERENT WITH DIFFERENT DYNAMICS AND YOUR STUPID ASS QUESTIONS CANNOT BE ANSWERED WITHOUT SOMEONE LISTENING TO THE TRACK...You're throwing out very technical questions, and asking for very technical answers. The output gain on the compressor is a big deal. Even 0.1db can make a difference on the track. How on earth do you expect someone to be able to answer that. Use your ears and mix to taste. If you want someone else to mix it for you, I'd be more than happy, once you cut me a cheque of course...

And NO, I don't want to hear anybody bitching at me that I need to relax on him. He's just fuckin asking for it, and should be banned for life....I guess closing the General forums didn't help with the situation on this site...

LOL im sure i answered this question twice today already to and then i come in here and see its the same guy like i said twice already and u said three times already, the question doesnt have an answer basically, also you need to learn how to mix before you try to mix ! and it sounds like authority doesnt know how to mix but is putting in compressors and stuff left right and centre because he's heard thats what other people do whilst not having a fuckin clue what they do or why he needs them !

basically what you need to do is research what compression is what a compressor does and how to work one, that and your ears will answer all three of your questions !
