trinidad said:i HAVE BOTH an mpc and fl n like classic said u do use ur eyes how ever if ur not quantize ing ur beats it makes no difference. if ur using an mpd n use fl witn no quantize its the same as an moc without timing on, some ppl prefer the feel of the MPC, the ease of it and the timing on it the 16 1/3 on my mp is my favorite but once u get real comfortable wit fl u can acheive the same thing wit the seqencer on it and the use of the right swing. this is of course for drums. so like u said its all preferece to each is own
Marly Marl uses Reason ------ Pete Rock an MPC----
Cool n Dre Reason ------ Neptunes a shitload of hard ware
u feel wat im getting at. the beauty of hardware tho is that u dont need a pc, the irony is that all hardware are in some way a form of computer. if cost is ur worry software is the route cuz a good hardware sequencer aint cheap. Play around wit ur options n feel it out both have there advantages/ disadvantages feelme. I started on FL went to an MPC 2000xl/Triton LE setup now im pretty much back on FL with a controller n wit the mpc evey now n than, my boy EXEL (he on here did the same) its all on ur comfort level dont get pursaded by "standards" In the essence of a SEQUENCER there was always a computer its all on the form of the computer u use hope im helpfull with this. Peace.........
