Hey, everything these guys have mentioned is worth checking out but I can't emphasize enough, get some MF DOOM / Viktor Vaughn / Metal Fingers / MM Food / Zev Love. This has to be one of my favorite MCs and I religiously study the underground (for lack of a better term). His wordplay is immaculate and he consistantly blows me away, especially with all the new shit he has been dropping. Check for record labels or certain producers that you like. Some record label suggestions to look for are Stones Throw, Def Jux, Landspeed, Rhymesayers, Old Maid Billionaires, Psycho-logical, Brick, Legendary Music, Anticon, All Natural Inc. Also, go to all those web-sites that were mentioned and listen to the streaming audio. There is so much hip-hop out there now days you kind of have to be a dedicated digger just like you would for samples...

aesop rock is one of my favorite mc's of all time--his production is sick and his stuff that he produced inspires me just as much as when he flows over blockhead's beats. aesop's rhymes are rediculous--the first listen you are thinking "damn this sounds sick". but with every additional time you listen, you get more and more from it. you start to understand what he says more and more. aesop and el p are the type of mc that puts out shit that gets better over time for that reason.
