I own an asr-x which is very similar to an akai mpc. I have been saving my beats to the built in floppy disk drive. It takes way to long and way too many disks to save a beat that lasts not even one minute long. My question is...what kind of zip drive would I need for an asr-x (same as mpc) and how much would it cost? thanks:confused:

You should have known that you were going to have to get a Zip drive, I know that 100mb zips will run you about $20, So they Ain't that bad in price. That's funny though trying to save a beat that's under a minute on floppies.

How much saved information could I possibly save on a zip drive for 2o dollars? are ther any others that are better that can help me save more stuff or will that be enough (100mb)? Hook me up with a website or a link or something. Thank you very much.

100mb could save at least 10 tunes ( depending on not too many samples per song) your more than sitting pretty with a 100mb disk. But yeah the larger to better, that's if the unit can handle it first though. I think they make like 750mb zip's but I don't think you can use that ish with Modern units just yet, computers yeah but I don't think Hardware is up to par on them disks.

a 100 mb disk drive is what people ussualy buy. I mean will I be disapointed with how much or how little I can save?

For real??

Ok, well just do this:

I dunno what prgm you burn with?...But, I use Nero...

Usually most burners prompt you for what kind of disk your going to make...So, go ahead and choose DATA...than in Nero anyways, i just drag my files over and then hit burn....Basically, navigate to where your songs are and choose them however tha prgm asks you to and then burn a data disk of it....
then just to be safe put tha disk back in your drive to check it burned correctly and open it up and even test it...that way if you go and delete yer shit you know its already safely burned on yer disk...

Good luck...this shouldnt be too hard, trust me.

Yeah, probably??? Sorry man...See i dont work with hardware tho i have at friends houses and seen how shit intertwines with each other...but yeah, Im thinkin that if already have a completed work that you have saved on yer asr-10 then if you can export to tha computer as a WAV file or directly play from tha begining to tha end like when you record from a record player to computer - you can just record directly into whatever wav editor you have like cooleditpro, or soundforge, whatever....I dunno besides that tho??
