you could experiment with an EQ and try and filter them out, other than that you'll just have to work around it, find samples that are useable for you, you just gotta dig a bit deeper.

Nope, there's no way of taking out just certain instruments or vocals unless you have the masters of those tracks. But like Chedda said, you can try EQ and filtering but of course it's still not going to be like you want it.

when i sample vocals straight to the mpc....then when i bounce to disk, the vocal sample sounds shitty...any tricks i can use to keep the vocal tracks alive while i put tha beats down?

there is a way to get rid of the beat and leave the vocals but you would need an instrumental of the song and depending on the song that may not be available. basically what you do is take the instrumental and invert it. most wave editors have an invert function. this basically makes a negative of the beat. then you have to layer it exactly on top of the full song. the negative beat and the positive beat will phase each other out and you're left with the vocals. you can usually hear a little of the beat in the back but it should be low enough that it won't be noticable in the mix

i just learned this trick today, but i can't seem to get it to work. i basically can't get the waves to line up perfect enough for it to work.

Basically dig harder and keep digging, dont give up cuz u got stumped all of sudden. If tha sample is cluttered with too many other sounds that are not what u want than its simple: U have tha WRONG sample...Keep diggin dawg!
