Other than the fact that there are tons of old vinyls and they're cheep, whats the advantage of sampling with vinyls as opposed to just downloading songs off the internet and choppin em up in CEP or something.

personally i like to grab a stack of records, i have no clue whats on them, i listen to them all back to front. i get exposed to tons of music. learn from that music and find new things that i enjoy listening too. I mean its part of the tradition. and for any music lover its a great experiance.
Lots of unexpected things happen when you use wax too. small sounds. slight speed inreases and decreases. you can slow your turntable down or speed it up with out having to use any type of digital pitch shift.
Plus records have a true analog sound. it is the exact sound that was recorded, not a digital representation of that sound.
