Do any of you guys know how much an recording engineer makes an hour or a yearly salary. I am doing an report 4 my english teacher on what i want to be after i go to college.
zero to half a mil a year, I read that in a little magazine I got from Dirt Cheap Music,
depends on who you work for, Its cats that work for Korg and Disney making $500,000 a year. Then its Rico your locale studio engineer making nothing.
I did a project like that afew years ago, I found that an engineer working for a med size studio, can make $500 a day, nice hey ? I also found out that an average working day for an engineer is 12-14 hours.

unfortunately your average drug dealer makes that in 2-3 hours... which is why you need more than just the ability to mix. Get your business game up, this shit ain't no fairplay, you gotta hustle these people!

I dont know anyone working at Korg that makes that much, maybe the CEO.
The average engineer makes 30-40k a year, in fact I know a very well known engineer that has recorded weezer and ben folds and his salary is only like 25k a year. I do know a few making six figures and up but they are the exception not the rule.
