What beat machines did Run-DMC use on their first albums like on track such as "Hard Times" off of "Run-DMC Album"....I wanna know where did they get that clap from.

I think its from the Oberheim DMX drum machine. Alot of their drums come from that drum machine. I dont think they ever used an MPC.

It definently was not the SP1200 (it wasn't out yet, not til '87), shit the SP12 wasn't released until 1985. I think it was the Linn Drum that came out in 1982.

Tidbit: Roger Linn (creator of the LM-1 Linn Drum) also went on to aid in the creation and design the original MPC60.

Yup, i was right, they used the DMX drum machine. It says it on vintagesynth.com

Correct w/ sound record from LIVE drummers and drumming sessions... If you really want the clap, u can always do the kanye and just sample the clap that u want from the song you like... nothing beats stealing other peoples drums huh, Kanye... :cuss:
