i think whoever says that 9th beat is wack is gay cuz they prolly cant wait for that jeezy timbaland to drop

I won't say he's wack but he's not prolific. 9th's legacy to me, as it stands is for utilizing "Fruity Loops" program to make good Hip Hop tracks and thus opening the floodgate of "pc" producers. He's got good tracks and so do alot of other producers. Just Blaze has a sound, Kanye has a sound, Pharrell has a sound. Their sound is their signature. What is 9th's sound, signature? There are quite a few producers that came many years before him that can lay claim to samplin' Soul records. I think 9th is a champion for those that are fans of unadultered Hip Hop and a visionary in the use computer software, but on a "skill" level he's no Focus, Hi-Tech or the late J-Dilla for that matter. I'm probably one of the few on this site that feels this way (and it wouldn't be the first time), but I don't feel that he's an "elite" producer. He falls in with the Kev Browns of the world (although I think Kev Brown is more talented). Their good and I like their production, but it's not creatively inspiring.

And I must mention, I definently ain't gay and it would make no difference in my life if either Timbaland or Jeezy decided to retire tomorrow.

i cosign wat svenghali is sayin but 9th does have a signature it just gets boring after while. There are a couple of beats i say wow to but then after that I get used to the same patterns and overall sound of his music but I dont want to turn this into a 9th wonder post so back to the issue the listing might be true i got this from allhiphop.com

JAY-Z TRACKLISTING & TOUR UPDATE...

So, this is what I was told from a source about the Jigga tracklisting and this will prove to be the truth! "That list you have is somewhat all of it some of the titles are wrong and the features are all right except you're missing one big one we gonna keep under wraps. There are more songs." Ok, so now we are getting someplace. We'll see, won't we? [Still some guy says to me, 'I made it up." So, who knows?]

well im guilty ... when i read cd credits ... and i see the album has a timbaland beat ... i look forward to hearing that track ... cuz i know more than not its gonna be some hot diffrent soundin shit ... i dont mean to dwell on anything but threat sounds like it could have been made by anyone .. premo, havoc, any producer really ... its not a beat thats distinguishable in any way at all ... dj excellence (sorry to pick on u but thats ur style) could have made that beat posted it in the showcase and got some good reviews ... feel me? ...l... im not sayin 9th aint dope cuz he defintely is .. but just cuz u placed on jays last album dont give u an automatic spot on this one ..... specially when the track was mediocre at best at least for me..

I just hate when Jay-z works with the Neptunes, there's no beat he did with them that I liked. And for that Threat beat, same thing for me, i thought it was just above average

i dunno. i really liked change clothes.

and yea nova, that coldplay track should be really interesting. i'm not really all hyped up with the rap/rock-alternative type collabos though.

i think at the end of the day he works with the best producers around ,he's arguably the biggest name in the game at the moment so why shouldnt he if he put out an album with a bunch of no names and it got slated he'd look like and idiot and he'd lose money, as much money as he may have he still is not going to want to lost money on an album, and surely he will bring out the his most creative and best stuff with the most creative and best producers around !? no ?

Yes, that track was mediocre at best. But I do like the new version of the Crooklyn Dodgers he produced.

How you gonna tell me what I really listened to and what I know? My point wasn't about how he makes beats, I said he is known more for bringin' prominence to Fruity Loops than his tracks. What didn't you understand? There's a serious problem on this site with basic reading and comprehension. How can a dude that can't read and comprehend make beats? Having to always reiterate the point to these lames is getting old. Read, think, speak.

the chorus is wack. i've heard the main sample used before. it sounds like they tried to make it bigger than it really is by adding all the extra drum work, it's too much going on IMO. it does have and "encore"-ish feel to is. check K-def (one of the G.O.A.T.) site and check his version, track 13 on his audio player (but the 12 before are also hot so enjoy'em all), i'm lovin his alot more.
