Me and a partna of mine are tryin to put a home studio together. We have so far.
Yamaha Motif ES6
FL Studio 5 AKG3000 mic
Reason 2.5
Soundforge 7

We are lookin at pickin up the Roland VS2000Cd as the center piece of the studio.
Maybe a MV8000 later on. We are just lookin for some feedback on what we got so far and on the VS. Since we are from the south, our beats refleck the down-south feel. We make our own beats and write our own songs. Its just takin a long time to get the studio right. We still got to build a vocal boothe. Being from a hick town doesnt help us out at all. Its really hard to get help. Noone really knows alot about making beats or recording anything around here. We are learning by books and trial and error. I just think if we had a little help we could make a big leap forward. We both have a good ear for music. We have done the software thing for a while but dont know much about hardware. Any help will be grately appreciated !

ill o.g.
dang this is an old post, yea but sounds nice what you got is straight, but if i was you i would save the money you gonna spend on the vs2000cd and buy some monitors, and a good recording program, but what kind of computer you got and whats the specs, other than that set-up is nice but it you want you can pic up a mpc-2000xl for programing you drums and sequencing,

p.s
make a new thread next time

i've had mine for like a year now, and i like it without thinking about whut it has over the mpc
now i'm tryin to get the most out of it usin the mastering kit to see if i can reach the commercial standard ! I think it has problems in boostin in the mids, it's good for the bottom, like real low like 808
