yo what up people

just wondering, when you use a sample for a song do you throw it away later? or do you keep it in your library of sounds to flip in a different way later on?

i dont throw away any samples. once i sample a sound i keep it wether i use it or not. samples that i do use i always come back to see if i can make something hotter than the first track i made with those samples.

Hey,

All sounds that I use for music are stored on my hard drive as WAV files, which means I have access to them whenever I want. I think it's a shame to throw sounds away, so they just sit there looking good until the next time I need them.

I think at one time it was a concern for people to keep or chuck sounds because storage was expensive...but now, hard drives are so damn cheap you don't have to worry as much.

Ya, sometimes I mark down which samples come from where, and occasionally I'll try to re-make a track I did in the past.

I never throw away even the most annoying sample,I sort my samples in monthly folders, so at the end of the month I can see how productive I was,at the end of the year sort the wack from the ill, its like a libary & a time line of my skillz !!

I regularly go thru my drum samples and delete sounds that i dont like anymore, cause i dont want any filler sounds no more, all the sounds i use need to sound good individually as well as sounding good with other instruments.

and as for my vinly loops the same, every so often i format my sampler and start fresh, plus trade in records that dont instrest me anymore to get something different, this way i am able to keep my sound progressing until i get to the style i wanna get to.
