Are labels wrong for making money in such a way? or are millions of people wrong for buying it?

Its just like spam, if spam email didn't make money there would be no more spam/

great point.. its just basic sales.... the more people u contact, the better sales u have.. thats why lcd music will always be made. we, as educated consumers and deep listeners, we are in the minority... most people dont listen to the music the same way that we do. People love hype .. they like following the crowd... following trends... u see this everywhere.. fashion, politics, and esp music. People like stuff because someone told them it was cool to like it. Same could be said for cigarettes or coffee .. i mean you would be hard pressed to name one chainsmoker smoker that actually ENJOYED their first cigarette. people just like doing what other people do ... If you smile while ur talking to someone the person you are talking to will smile back at you. If 4 people are in a group and someone tells a joke that makes 3 of the 4 people laugh, i guarantee the other person will laugh along with them even if they didnt think the joke was funny. So when something is played constantly on the radio its "assumed" by the public that its a great hit record even when it might be total crap. A "person" is smart. "People" are dumb. The average head cant follow Lupe, but they love the chrous on "Superstar" lol.

preach! i think if anyone is thinking of doing music for a living, they need to take make use of this, or at least if they feel it to be unethical, which I really don't think it is, acknowledge its the existence.

Afriquedeluxe on Ash's comments:
...anyone is thinking of doing music for a living, they need to take make use of this, or at least if they feel it to be unethical...acknowledge its the existence.

These are two very important pieces of advice.

This can definitely be furthered into a discussion of group psychology/mass marketing/ad techniques used in influencing popular music.

But Ash and Afrique dropped two very important pieces of knowledge.
