i did - their re-drum = trash

no audio in = trash

no time stretch = trash / recyle time stretch = trash

But everything else is good - however, the synths are as warm or as thick as the real things - and never will be...thats hwy i like analog in the first place..its presence. So i just ignore reasons.

And as far as its SOUNDS being up there with Roland and Korg - DEFINETELY not its FSB disk...i dunno who smoking that greenery..and why...but id get a TRiton Xtreme WAY before I pick up a FSB disk...especially if you put them at the same price.

Reason is the best STandalone Software i seen so far - cuz its library is so huge...but i think ableton got them feature wise...

Ive been using it for roughly 5 yrs now since version 1 and ive always been quite pleased with the prgm....

IMO the prgms always been a powerhouse, people just trip on it cuz its the new form of constructing a song versus tha tradtional analogue approach.....beats are still dope tho its just a new format.

reasons a great program and i do see people complain about it. i dont really like the drum or synth presets, but i know these can be upgraded.

also that drum machine, im not into the way you sequence with that. i think that FL is a hell of alot easier for programming drums.

Reason is a powerful sampler. The other stuff is just add-ons. If you use it like a powerful, customizable sampler, you will get the best results.

Fucka "preset" tho!....Its best to try and get into the habbit of NOT even using presets since they limit you in the first place. Im jus sayin cuz the irony in that is the synths that reason provides are more than capable of modeling really dope textures and sounds....It all comes down to toying with the parameters and seeing what u can make, then later on save your own patch. BOOM! Dope presets that dont suckass.

im working with Reason over 4 years
..... It's great for drum programing ,.. i even use re-drum as a wav sempler...
but his electro-sounds, sound very limited.
But it's cool tool if you use Reason thru Rewire with Cubase than you can expand sounds on the another level. Add a midi keyboard... and basicly thats all you need.

Reason was a life saver for. I remember i had decided to quite producing and sold all my gear. When i figured out I couldnt live with making beats, Reason was all I could get my hands on at the time, and it did just as much as my first setup did: Mpc 2000, kurzweil k2000, Cool Edit Pro 2.0. So reason is whats up!

reason is cool, and like you say it's more than capable....

all said and done....it's down to the producer to make something hot....kit can help polish stuff sure....but it's gotta be will composed. pharrell lays all his ideas out on an old 0/1w and that's prehistoric compared to reason.

Yes you CAN do anything in reason but those factory sounds are cheesy as hell....I havent heard if they changed it in reason 3.0 though cuz I have 2.0

yo i been using since i started producing so i know the program inside out now, i started on 2.5 but im using threee its a really good program all those beats i posted up when i can 2nd in the battle that... they were reason beats and when i came 2nd in the last beat this ..... that was a reason beat ! theres nothing wrong with the program the only problem i had is obviously you can't chop samples so i just use adobe audition to do that then import the samples in reason and sequence out there ! recently i got some gear tho so now im guna be using my MPC to sequence using reason as more of a sound source for my keyboard and then dumping everything into pro tools ! its like anything tho if you know how to use it you will appreciate how good it is if you don't know how to you use it you wil call it wack !

i used to always think i was limited. and after a while, the stock sounds really do suck. but they are still decent. now ive gotten the sonic reality gold pack with 20 volumes of refills and i gotta say woahhh... for 400 (refills) plus a couple hundred for reason you have a more capable studio than any workstation. now if propellerhead just implemented VST support for 3.5/4.0 :)

yeah

Im moving from the mpc 2000XL to reason 3... shits way more effecient, some of that analog umphhh to the beat is gone, but you can run your mix through an analog board and get a good sound... overall Reason 3.0 is as or more (more in my opinion) capable than the mpc's
