If you want real horns there's nothing on earth like using the real thing... all you need is one nice clean note in the style you want off any record or free loop pack. Place that sound in the NNXT (the bottom section when you click on that lil arrow) and you can play whatever you want off that within roughly an octive of the original. Also you can tune it easily if it's a touch bitter... I dunno when it comes to replicating real instruments I can't be bothered to waste my time cuz it's so easy to just use the real thing.

Peace.

I think its clear he isnt going to sample this shit. he is looking for a combination of horns in Reason to manipulate with a combinator to make a brass section.

It can be done, just needs trial and error. and time spent doing it.

Most get it done..and send it my way hahahaha.

My bad. I just think sampling might be the easiest option.

Good luck on making the horns though.

VSTi Miles'tone

I don't know if any body's used the VSTi Miles'tone but check it out. This softsynth sounds like a real trumpet. You can change the instrument position as far its relation to mic position, room size, muted (the little joint they instert into the trumpet etc etc. Check it out...I just cop'd it. It's really dope.

if software is your direction than try experimenting with reverb, waveform, frequency and everything else.. you can usuially make an uninteresting sound very interesting with the right adjustment. You asked about the correct amount of reverb to add to the instrument but this will be different for each instrument and interface.. after you put some time into it you will get a feel for it just like becoming a Chef takes time and experience.

have fun

"REWIRE'' homie. Dudes are really not taking advantage of that feature. You can have the best of both worlds. I have plenty of VSTi's that I use while rewiring Reason to Sony Acid Pro 6, Cubase or Audition 3. Trilogy, Pro53, Absynth 4, Stylus RMX, Miles'tone ect ect. Broaden your horizons!

that is dope, using reason doesn't really fit by current workflow but that is good to know! I wonder how slow rewiring larger vsti's would be rather than using them normally in software designed for them.
