I think it's more or less thugs trying to be rappers, whereas in the past it was rappers acting like thugs in their songs. So when we see "rapper so and so got shot", a lot of times it can equate to "gang member shot". That sort of thing. Role models is something truly missing today, but that really comes back to just having a community, and it's sad to see after all these years that this is still going on. This is one of the reasons why Rap music will always have a stigma attached to it.
