can someone give me more info on this album? i know it's being released by motown / universal but not much else...

Seriously, that country song that goes..."you got to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, know when to run" comes to mind. I love Tip and what he did back in the day with Tribe but he's finished. Even if he's just doing this for the true Tip fans, I would imagine that they have all but turned to jazz or gospel by now and IM NOT bashing him. I really do wish him much success but so much has changed.

I definitely think Tip still has the ability to make dope music. Especially after watching him freestyle on stage with Common. I think with Common by his side, he still has some quality hip hop in him.

This sounds more like a demo , or just the adlibs on the track to me..At least the Dilla one did.
They shouldnt touch the midnight shit..just leave it perfect like it was, so Im not impressed with that remake, On a positive note, it sounds like one of us did that remake! lol

that remix was whack imo .. some stuff just needs to be left alone .. i think that was a scratch take on that first dilla one .. at least i really hope it was lol.. it just doesnt sound right .. doesnt sound finished, more like hes just tryin to get some ideas out. i hope to god thats not the final version . hes got like 0 energy on that track.

No doubt, IMO Tip is one of those MC's that just need someone with him. He proved that with his first solo album.

Yup, I did the same thing when I was a DJ, Tribe really had it going on back in the day, it was nothing to follow up De La Soul joint by mixing it with Tribe and keeping the floor packed.

that says it all...I agree that he's still capable of doing some hot ish but he would never appeal to todays audiences like he did in the past.

Those drums on the dilla track dont feel dilla-ish. They'd been better off two-trackin from one of the Dilla beat CD's.

That midnight remake is tight, but the original is still dope in its own right.

so the fever song was from an album of tip's that was shelved by Arista but it's a legit mastered copy lol, so i guess it's not going to be on his next album

i like fever. it sounds dope to me. obviously does sound unfinished and unmixed. tip's frist solo joint is a classic album to me. some of dillas dopest beats. not sure why they thought the beat was the thing to be remade from the midnight joint. that was a failure.
