Going to prison in the hiphop community seems to be an Awsome use of time tho huh?!
If we made going to college sound as cool as going to prison think about the change that would make....
Frankly we SHOULD be doing that, oh yeah no street cred.
Cant remember street credits got a higher paying gig than college cedits..Oh yes I can , my step daughter's crack dealing babies dad!! I think you get the point

I've known some grimey cats, lived in some grimey areas,,,,guess what,,,most cats don't talk like that. Serious. Wifey is latina from the worst area of Elizabeth, NJ. She's very smart and speaks perfect english and spanish,,,listens to Hip Hop,,,annnnd Pop/Rock/etc. So lets leave the stereotypes alone yall. Be yaself. I just want to say that everybody here made some good posts and brought up alot of good points. My main point however is to get respect, you have to demand it. And to demand respect, you have to respect yourself. So let's start showing the world that we do respect ourselves. We, in the hip hop community, are the biggest trend setters in the world. Let's show them what we are truly capable of. And I agree 100% with Deluxe, school does not always mean education. We should concern ourselves more so w/ knowledge.

i didn't read your initial post before benny but i most definetly agree with you. in this world if you don't have respect for yourself and can't represent yourself with confidence you will get ate up basically, college can't teach that worth shit... that's why all these college kids on the silverspoon are lillyliver's! great topic
