Do you need to use a certain brand of hardware with protools? Dont know if thats a real clear question but I went on digidesigns site and it said that the protools program helps to harness the power of your digidesign hardware.

Yes, if I install Pro tools LE on my mac and I'm using a Mbox and I disconnect it the software won't load up. So I'm asuming you need Digidesign hardware.

Yes, to use Pro Tools software, you MUST have their hardware. For some people this is a benefit; for others, this is a pain in the ass.

unless its the free version. theres some free versions out there that have been made to act like the full version and you can use any type of hardware and still have all the advantages of pro tools. (not that i would recomend using modified software... )
