Okay, I'm having a little problem here. Whenever i record vocals i have to turn the beat way down in order to get a good accapella and even then it aint as clear as i need it to be and it also makes it harder for the m.c. to stay hype. Im running off of a Soundblaster audigy 2 platinum pro. I recently was at a studio and the engineer told me to run the instrumental off of a seperate channels (for instance Record vocals on output 1 and beat off of output 2). But when i tried this nothing picks up. What can be done?

Bass Comes out Wavey when muti-tracking into a computer program

How can i fix this? When I lay my instrumentals out in Acid track by track they all sound real good except for the bass. The bass somehow gets distorted and comes out wavey. For instance, instead of a straight low bass line its like a low bass line with stutters in it. Ya feel me? The bass gets distorted! I have a deadline to meet, and the beats have to be sold, how can I fix this problem before its too late? I want the bass to come out like how it sounds when i play the beat off the triton.

i heard soundblaster cards suck ass. if you got a triton then you should definetly have a better sound card. now on the bass issue are you sure your not clippin?? make sure all your levels are right, you dont always have to record as loud as it lets you because you can mess with it once its tracked out. thats all i can basically say because i dont use acid.

Shouldn't the M.C. be monitoring the beat through headphones? Otherwise, you're going to pick up the beat in the background of your vocal recording.
