My take is this...

Prefuse 73 , Dimlite, Bonobo, Telefon Telviv are some of my favourite "21st century" producers. I don't know about anyone else but these guys inspire me to be more open minded. Cause you can definitely hear elements of different styles in their music. Me living in Africa this says to me, I have a duty to infuse the music I've been brought up on with Hip Hop or any other style that I do.

This style of music is an aqcuired taste just like jazz so it might not appeal to many people. But for me this is what music should be about - FUSION.

man, i was into those guys since i started producing. both sounds are extra fresh although i was kind of disappointed with prefuse 73's last album, security screenings. one word extinguisher will always be a classic to me. as far as amon tobin goes, the way he warps and juxtaposes sounds is ridiculous.

I don't really have a lot of knowledge about Tobin but I've heard maybe two tracks. I've seen a video of how he work from a FUTURE MUSIC mag and it is truly avant garde.
