Yea sheet music but its pattern bassed, their should be differnt levels though for begginners intermediate and advanced.....

the main purpose of these book is to stregnthen you fingers by playing the shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over andover and over and over and over andover and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

For anybody who grew up playing the piano they dredded this shit, but it teaches ur fingers how to play its basically like weight training,.....

do you think the hannon exercises will work for me if i'm using an M-Audio keyboard, or do I need something higher quality with real piano keys?

Until you can find a good teacher, hit up the Internet and get you some good beginner lessons. You don't even need to buy books, the net is all you need to get started, but DO get a good teacher, because it's such a thing as bad practice technique wise.

yeah i was thinking about internet lessons, for a minute. i just recently moved and i've been looking every where for a teacher, and have not found anybody at all. but hopefully i will find someone because i was thinking what if i unknowingly had a poor techinique and wouldn't know how to correct it.

Im glad you said that casue i forgot, yea hannon exericses are ment for real weighted piano keys, You can try them on a keyboard and get good finger movement but when u move to a piano u will see a big differnce so the more realstic the piano keys the better......

yeah thats kinda what I had figured, damn...do you happen to know what the cheapest keyboard is with some serious keys? I really want to learn piano/keyboard skills but I'm still waiting to get my first MPC so my money is kinda looking elsewhere right now..

m-audio has a 88 weighted key controller for 200, you could probally get it for 150 or lower if you talk right at guitar center http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Keyboards/Midi/MIDI/Controllers?sku=703607

sorry no their iisent
Im in a simlar in the same situation ive been looking for a controller with realstic keys for months and i havent seen anything under 550- 600. M-audio makes decent controllers( i have the keystation) but the keys are not realstic at all. Even the hammer action in the more expensive m-audio controllers feel light and plastic like. They dont have a "realstic" piano feel at all.

They only controllers ive seen with dope piano like action for a good price are the yahmma digitial P20 piano's , which im saving up for. thats about as close as you can get without getting into the $1000+ range

Lucky where i work there is a 9 1/2 ft stienway concert grand, thats what i pratice my piano pieces on, i rarley pratice on the keystation anymore....I use it just for beats

class...
