How did you come accross this story?
I read the whole story. I don't know why they all tripped over this. Starting with the photo. Why lie in the first place? Just say "yeah, I used photoshop". We do it all the time in America. I went to High School with him.
He is the reason I stoped drawing. I used to could hang with him but one day he drew a portrait of his Mom and then I just gave up. After he went to school and got some serious training he came out a straight fukn Jedi. You know in the movie SuperBad, that kid that drew cocks all the time? He was that kid. He used to hide dicks in people's yearbooks when he signed them. And when people took portraits where their head was tilted too far, he'd draw a dick hitting them in the head and neck. COMEDY.
He is a big fan of Ryan Church and he sells these dope tutorials and that is where he learned a lot of his wacom skills from. he makes his own brush tips and shit. http://www.ryanchurch.com/

Well, I think the point of the story wasn't whether photoshop is art or not; it's about journalistic integrity and propaganda. This guy lied with his picture because he knew it would serve the government's propaganda campaign. He's used photoshop to create a lie, quite a serious lie in fact. Obviously he's been used as a scapegoat to protect his bosses but I don't think they've overreacted at all; the exploitation of natural resources and Tibet in general plus destruction of habitat are not trivial issues in this country or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

If you were to look a little more into you'd probably find some even crazier shit. I might be making this up but from what I understand, they block certain sites and stuff for the whole population so their culture is not exposed to certain things like American propaganda. The whole contry has a firewall or something like that.
I think even major movie releases here in the US have to jump through hoops to get released out there.

Actually Relic, even though you were joking there is some truth to that; in the sense that the people running this place are evil. Of course this isn't the only country run by arseholes; can't think of many that aren't.
That's true to a certain extent, there is a firewall blocking a lot of internet sites but it's not quite as restrictive as that, we still get more than enough American propaganda if we want to look for it. Sites that are blocked are more along the lines of things that are critical of the Chinese government. Also all web connections are monitored by the government; the police have a whole department dedicated to this. I think I mentioned elsewhere that our computers at my last job were individually monitored because the police had logged someone accessing the Falun Gong website from the school so they tightened their surveillance. (Interesting that the Falun Gong site was not blocked)
Also most of the sites blocked are Chinese language ones not as much in English although there are still quite a few. A lot of porn is blocked. But there is a way around it. If a site I want to access is blocked I just use my proxy server to get around it and the pigs are none the wiser, (as long as they don't read this).
As for movies that's only for cinema release, most people watch DVDs and you can pretty much buy any current release on DVD for about $1 USD, (pirate of course, but the pigs are paid off and the government doesn't really care that much; as long as they are seen to be doing something about it sometimes to save face. In reality the biggest pirate DVD and CD pressing plants are owned by the Army in partnership with the triads). The DVD shops here make a show of hiding their collections behind false walls so if anyone asks awkward questions the police can say they looked but didn't see the false wall.

That's Bob Ross. The canvas OG. Turns a splotch of paint into a fukn tree in like 2 seconds.
I'll find out what he charges to do freelance work. He did an album cover way back in the day for this group in Tucson. This was from way back in the 90s I think.

I am trying to get him to post up more videos but he is mad busy. He does these caricatures of coworkers. They are funny as hell. I am trying to get him to create a gallery so he can put all that stuff up.
LOL. The wacom is no joke. I want to get one some day but I am too lazy for that right now. I can't even get busy wit a pencil and a piece of paper let alone a wacom joint. I still fucts with the paint but the digital is years out of my reach.

I still get busy in photoshop and I do paint when I have time but I have been investing all my time to music the last 4 months. I am trying to finish 3 big acrylic on canvas pieces for this Monday. I plan on having some videos up showing the process I like that time lapse sh*t.
I borrowed my buddies wacom for about a month but I just decided to focus on the music. I am like Ash though. I want to have some ill artwork for my CD cover and I will do it myself but I ain't gonna pop out anything close to what my boy can do. It will be mostly computer generated abstract stuff and not drawn by hand.
