Dam, i feel bad for dude personally....
I always thought he had impressive qualities as an actor. I get the feeling that hes the type of individual that doesn't deal well with being in the public eye when hes not prepared for it or doing well on the personal tip....
Its kinda fucked up the way everybody just used him as the center of all the jokes being told on the show...If I were him i woulda felt attacked too.
I mean, hes clearly preoccupied with some kinda shit, either mentally or drugs, or both I dunno....
I guess in the end your fair game if you walk out looking like your homeless. I still feel bad for him tho.

David Letterman... as he gets older, has been putting more and more people on blast. He kills Paris Hilton every time. And he didn't take it easy on McCain. But this vid takes the cake. I have never seen anyone get it that hard form Dave. If Phoenix would have just participated a little more I think he would have been fine but I think when Dave killed him on his beard, Phoenix just could never recover. I think he took it really personally.
And I don't if porn just raised the level of hotness up to high for me, but I swear... almost all of these NBA dancers look like trannys to me.

it's been speculated that dude is doing some pr stunt or indie type film, especially since casey affleck has been filming him since he started this 'i quit acting, now i'm going to rap', or some jokey thing but it ain't funny. but if you quit this bitch, what the hell are you doing on letterman?
if he isn't takin' a piss, then oh well, trust, dude should be taking care of his alkie habit and make sure he doesn't repeat his brother river's footstep into OD foolery.
i remember his brother on joan rivers show, before arsenio took over, and dude was high as fuck, in another world and had nothing to say. some said it was sad to see, more like pathetic, but most of them wouldn't say the same thing about any non-celeb junkie on the street

This is genius. He's totally making fun of his own celebrity - creating buzz about himself and his movie.
Totally like Andy Kaufman, where he holds his persona through the entire interview. Good stuff. He's making a complete mockery of actually being a celebrity. Remember, this guy's an Oscar-nominated actor - my opinion is that he's acting.

i like the kaufman reference, someone else mention that somewhere else, but he was a genius and pulled it off, phoenix ain't, and he's a known drunk (maybe he's actively kicking the habit), unless you're a sociable drunk, you have to be on your p's and q's even for this stunt.
plus, i don't think even kaufman could make the same impact in these times with the explosion of media, web, viral marketing all on overdrive, just too many distractions to keep any interest or attention.

He's actually helping Phoenix market the film believe it or not.
