ummmmmmm the bible is in english because we read english here. it was translated. king james has nothing to do with the BIBLE itself.

the old testament was written in the hebrew language and the new testament in the greek language. it wasnt written in english... its called... TRANSLATION.

had nothing to do with the christian church- constantine founded the catholic church because of as vivion he had of a cross, and was told to conquer in that name.....and many of its traditions are rooted in pagan cults... . this had nothing to do with christianity.

Thats not even the point. It comes down to this, every man on this earth has to belive in something. Rather its jesus, Mummhand,budda. OR if you CHoose not to belive in any religion. Their is something that has to make you wake up in the moring.

I choose to belive in the teachings in jesus christ. No amount of historcal evidence can change that. I dont care if they say jesus, mary,paul,etc..never existed. In my heart i know the truth.

Each man has to come to that decsion on his own
no amount of arguing will change that

when it comes down to it we will all find out the truth when we die.

As far as religion goes people say that it's here to bind man, but I think the world would be fucked if we didn't have it. Think what would happen if man had no boundaries, if man were restricted only by his/her greed and desire. No matter how intelligent we are we're still pretty primative.

so from what i can see your all recommending it. i mean, gibson is great as an actor, but i don't think i have ever seen something he's produced, or if i did i didn't know it. i'm not particularly or at all religious, do you think its still worth a watch despite my lack of faith? it looks very dramatic, and interresting, and its been said to be kinda controversial, so that always makes it interesting.

Greetings worthy citizens!

I couldnt agree more with vitaminman. And on the point about 'not being there at the time': no one from the present or even 100 years after his crucifiction can truthfully and knowingly say exactly what events took place, and who was involved, I don't care who u are.

When the day comes when people can travel back in time to the days when Jesus was alive, and bring back the truth to the present to tell us how it really was, then I think everything else is heresay and rumours.

Since I was old enough to care about issues relating to religion I have seen the Bible and any other religous writings almost as a game of chinese whispers that has been reorded for centuries, only, every single interpretation has been recorded on paper. Although I do believe Jesus did exist and there was a crucifiction.

But please dont take this the wrong way, I'm just putting in my 2 cents, I'm not even about to start arguing over this ish. If people want to believe then I think they should believe. If people don't believe, I think thats fine too.

I believe in living a good life, respecting people that respect u, giving when u can and being truthful to yourself, and also being very open minded. And speaking of movies, I quote Dogma - 'religion is a good idea', but for me thats where it ends.
