To all you guys that have the mpc 1000, have you ever had trouble with your pads. like on certain pads do you have yo hit them increasingly harder than usual for the sample to trigger.
i've been hearing this from alot of people lately, but i was wondering if anybody over here has had this problem.

NOPE also check your mpc out real Quick.....

press mode
press pad 10 (other)
then do you see a velocity curve...
you can adjust your pads there...

I never had a problem and this is my 3rd mpc...it works as good as other ones...unless you have some defect or something...

well i'm still considering getting the 1k. but i've heard from like over 20 people that certain pads are dying, and that theyve done that check for the velocity but it's still the same.

Yeah, i've been having that trouble with pad 4 on my 1k. I dont even assign anything to it now. The pad plays when I do a step record/edit, but actually hitting the pad it works when it wants to like it has a mind of its own.

well the only thing I can think of is that a screw is loose possibly, I took my 3000 apart before to tighten up that whole panel the keeps the pad in place....??? I dunno but thats something to look at or check with akai on if still have your warranty.

pretty sure the pads on the 1k are the same as the other mpc's and some of the 2000s have been goin for fuckin years !

the pads arent the same, lots of people including myself notice the difference. But i'm not even worried now. i just called this place called vst service and they said that when the pads give out that a simple replacement set of pads will make it like new, and thats theres no actual electrical damge. it cost about 80 dollars for the repair.

Ive Had My 1k Since The First Month It Came Out And Still Works The Same As It Did That Day, But I Did Read About Peoples Padsfailing On The Mpc Forums, So I Dunno, Maybe A Certain Amount Of Them Got Fucked Up During Prodcution. Like The Machine Wasnt Soldering Shit Right One Day Or Sumthin.

I was gona buy an MPC 2000xl (luckily i got to try it out first) but the pads were really worn out. You had to hit the pad pretty hard and bang in the center. You can get the sensors changed for like a $100 at VST i think its called.

my pads 1 &2 on my 1000 sound off low even when i have the full level button on. it's been like this since i bought almost 2 years ago. didn't know that u could change the sensitivity one by one though. i did that now it's straight.
