I just got that in the mail today. Yall should have yours soon then.

This mag is dope as fuck. They got a fantom of the beat interview, and charlamagne. The shit strange about that is that they had them 2 on the banginbeats dvd. But im glad i got this.

Who read Kanye's Interview.

He said he tried copyin eminems sounds off em's disk when he left the room. He was at the studio for the D12 World track and he's tellin em how he took em's sounds so he could learn how he got his drums how they were. He's fuckin crazy.

I subsribed to Remix and I thought no one was touching them because they list all the studio equipment producers they enterview use and ask them a lot of production questions but after I read the Kanye issue of Scratch...I was floored.

What I'm wondering is WHO the hell can they possibly interview for the rest of the issues because the hit it up everybody. Well...almost everybody. I guess they stilll got a few more to to but damn....they had Alchemist all the way down to the Track Stars.

If they keep this up, by their third issue, they gonna have to hit up producers that have retired and ask them about what they USED to do.

I read that sh*t Helix. How you gonna be in the studio with Eminem trying to jack drum samples? He also said he'll sample other producers snares and kicks right off their CD.....so since he has given the green light.....I guess I need o start jacking snares and kicks...

First in line.......BEATNUTS.

Ya'll need to read that shit from front to cover for real, all the artists they interviewed said what I've been preaching all along on this god damn website,

#1. Hiphop/rap is not very musical and well orchestrated

#2. The southern sound is more than an 808, it is not easy to produce those drums!

#3. Speaker systems make a big difference in listening to music, east coast sound is annoying to these guys with the big 18 in. woofers in the trunk!

I'll continue later

I agree with everything expect #1.

I think the musicaltity of hip hop depends on the listener and the region. Of course in NY hip hop beats have that grimy east coast sound. But in cali, The sound is alot more smooth and melodic.
Are u gonna tell me that " the chronic" and "doggy style" arent very musical and well orchestrated??

We were sooo close to finally agreeing on something LOL

class....

(lol) That was from Alchemist interview the part about the musical value!! Kanye West is a wild dude, somebody's gonna fuck him up for all that arrogance, and also have you guys seen Pharell's sneakers, they'll be 225 bucks, I bet they'll be in the next Scratch, also this issue seemed thinner than the first, maybe my imagination!

On pg. 23, they attacked the whole MAINSTREAM VS. UNDERGROUND thang, to put it simply, AESOP ROCK'S fans are no threat to the JAY Z fans and vise versa

why'd the damn backpack have to be pink? i never rocked a pick bag! it was always black, grey or red....

good issue, but more on that topic specifically... .

i really want to see a blend of over/under as far as the nature of the producers, and while most of the shine will obviously go to the major, commercially succesful producers, it kind of bugs me that 9th got a piddly little couple of paragraphs as opposed to the lengthy kanye (i know it was a feature, just sayin a full page on 9th is deserved). that type of parrity will only propagate the backpack vs radio rap issue even further.

i just hope it doesnt turn into the source or xxl for producers.

lets see a lil more on dilla, some hi tek, some el p, some rjd2, 88 keys, ayatollah, even guys like bink or mathematics....

because the timbalands, dres, neptunes, cash money's, rzas, premos, etc will have an abundance of space. i just want to see a lil more. the alchemist had a respectable article, an di hope to see more like that for the lesser known cats.

I kno I'm mad late but I just got acopy. I finaly found newstand near me dat sells it. All the articles are good. But I realy liked the Dj Scratch interview. He 1 of my influences as far as djing and production. Good article on sampling. And damn Kanye spent his whole article suckin Eminem off (meaning sweatin him). Em probably aint tweek them drums. Da whole mag is hot. But ,like 1 of the letters in the front suggested, they need to have a column for unknown producers. Producers send them beats and they pick the best each month and give them a lil article. Maybe 1/4 page. (Or definatley more)

I thought this issue was even better than the last. The Kanye article was interesting, but he definitely has no scruples anymore. The alchemist interview taught me the most. Is it just me or is David Banner out of place. He can't touch Mannie Fresh and he gets that write up? Its all reletive but David Banner does nothing for me. Lokking for JayDee, Madlib, RJD2, Jake-One, Diamond D, Large Pro,PeteRock, and Shadow.
