so i got a pair of yamaha hs80m's. before i start ill tell you my setup. I have my mpc out going into my eq. my eq out going into the line in of my computer. and the computer out(front speaker) to the monitors. so heres my dilemma..

when i use my mpc and am making a beat the monotors sound insanely good. then when i record the beat into my program and play it back the sound im getting back is alot lower than before i recorded it. i guess im just wondering if an audio interface will solve this problem much appreciated, peace

yea, you should get an interface...the soundcards that come with the computers are usually wack

Heres how you should wire it.

MPC direct to PC line in.
Pc out into equalizer(note: set eq to off when mixing).
Equalizer into amp.

The reason it sounds good from the mpc is because its equed to sound good.
You dont have that luxury from the pc so thats why it sounds shit in the program.
You are mixing your mpc to the eq, which is not a good thing.
Always mix eq neutral. Then boost frequencies on the eq after mixing to check for distortion from any of the bands.

ill o.g.
Audio interface required

You need an ASIO compliant zero latency Audio IO to get proper playback.
Also, I suspect the outboard EQ has no place in that signal chain.
