Okay, so a while back I posted about my computer crashing on me. I found out today that my motherboard is fried! So, I need a little assistance here. It seems I am a little outdated! I rock a "Socket A" motherboard. Rather then upgrade my whole entire system I thought I should just find another "Socket A" to replace this one. That way I can throw all of my stuff into it no problem (everything should fit, right? Ram etc..).
The motherboard that fried on me was an Asus (A7V266). So now, I am looking at these joints. One is a Biostar (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=21952&CatId=179) and the other is called EpoX (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1614829&CatId=179). Does anyone know anything about these through expereince? I just don't want to take the wrong route here and cop a motherboard that is going to go to shit on me in a week.
I am soon upgrading my motherboard, processor (presently an AMD Athalon) to more up to date models. Don't know when but I need something that will last me until then. Any help is much appreciated!
