If you are that bad at drums try using a loop.
Its just an idea.

na man thas a bad habit to get into..get used to making your own drums...listen to some songs and learn what ur favorite producer did get ideas from other ppl did...loops are good to use once in a while but some ppl overdose on loops and dont even make there own drums..

co-sign, i fell into that habit and didnt realy program drums for a long time. get a midi controller or a sampler (if u havent), cut out some bars from tracks you like and play along. that way youll get a feeling for drums after some time and youll do it right automatically

I agree that programmed drums is a the best option, but its in the using the loops you can start to understand how drum patterns are put together, until you understand that the beat patterns will be square. If you see what I mean.

Someone who is useless with drums or how they work would get a better quick fix result if they used a loop.
Making hiphop has gone well beyond the stage of just using loops, its all about the chops and how they are recombined these days. But its a learning curve and you cant make great drumloops overnight.

@2good: sure, i see chopping up and rearranging breaks as important as self-made drums, but youll gain a better understanding of it once you get the feeling of how they are to be played
