Studio Projects is a relatively new company, and I don't have any experience with it.

I have seen Rode in many studios, and I trust the brand.

For that price, you can't really go wrong though. Most likely the only difference is a slightly warmer/cooler sound from one or the other. One might have more of a presence around like 5 kHz or something, etc.

its a tossup .. the studio projects mic comes with more acceories .... the rode mc is a tad bit clearer .. but not anything particulary noticeable. both mics are really good and will do the job for vocals ... I had an original rode nt1 not the "A" version and it was awesome ... but honestly i think the original sounds diffrent than ntla .. not better or worse, just diffrent

yeah i have the rode nt1a . my friend had the original rode nt1 the original nt1 seems alil more warmer. but the nt1a is definately real clear and crisp. anice flat response so you can add ya affects and get the sound you want. . nothing will ever replace the original nt1 tho. but yes this is a good mic for a good price. get it

I have a rode NTK 1 as well. This mic is mad clear and perfect for vocals in my opinion. If you get a good preamp and use good cables, you can get a really pristine sound from this. I got this on a recommendation from some studio heads around my way and they all use it as well.

I ALSO have the studio projects mic as well. this mic doesn't sound that bad but it lacks a certain clarity compared to the NTK 1. Your best bet is to forget the studio projects. Alot of people I record want to use the studio projects one because it "looks" cooler but dont let that fool you. Quality is what you need so forget that.

Hope this helped,

Peace
